turn over the freeway to the left. Continue a couple of stops to the
light at Niles/Kern Canyon Road. Turn right. Turn right at 178E. Go
another 1-2 miles to Alfred Harrell Highway on the left. Turn left on
Alfred Harrell Highway. Go past the fire station, and keep driving,
soon you'll see the fields on the right.
MAKE YOUR ROOM RESERVATION!
Our first games
are in Bakersfield on the Jan.31st & Feb.1st for state cup.
Rooms will, I understand, fill very quickly. I don't know the
times of the games but driving up on Friday night is probably the
best plan.
It is very
important to make your plans and room reservations ASAP. I
understand rooms will fill very quickly. As an example, this morning
the Marriott Residence Inn had a variety of rooms available, a
limited kitchen and a FREE BREAKFAST! Tonight they are
sold-out!
I've made reservations at the Courtyard by Marriott. They have
a few rooms remaining.
See www.hotels.com
or www.orbitz.com for more hotel
choices. We can arrange to take a few players whose parents may not
be able to go. I've reserved a separate room for Michael and
any other player that has a sleeping bag.

Freddy Adu s 14 years old, is on the US Youth U20 team, has
a $1-million promotional agreement with Nike, and in January's MLS
draft will be the #1 pick of DC United.
The Youth U20 team plays on Tuesday. Time and channel is
unknown. Sunday's game was on Galavision (Comcast channel
76). I'll update this when I have more information.
- Each year Parade Magazine creates a
list of the high school (or younger) All-American soccer
players. On this year's list were several players from the
southern California area.
To be on the list is a goal TOP
players strive to achieve. Meet
PARADE's All-America High School Boys Soccer Team
Freddy Adu (see Freddy Adu in
these short videos. http://users.rcn.com/jizen/freddy/watch.html

- Practice is Monday and Wednesday 5:30 to 7:30 at Hillview High
School.
- Playing goalie is one of the hardest positions in all of sports. (Isn't
Ariel doing a great job.) USA
Today listed stopping a penalty kick as the 9th hardest. See the article article
for details.
